Collaborations
Uppsala Biobank collaborates locally with various departments within Akademiska Laboratory, including Clinical Pathology, Clinical Chemistry and Pharmacology, Clinical Microbiology, Clinical Genetics, etc.
There is an agreement between Region Uppsala and SLU (Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences) regarding human biological material. Researchers at SLU conducting research on human biological material (and covered by the Biobank Act) can register their specimen collection in Uppsala Biobank.
Uppsala Biobank is also involved in major strategic projects, such as:
- U-CAN (Uppsala-Umeå Comprehensive Cancer Consortium)
- SCAPIS (Swedish CardioPulmonary bioImage Study)
- SWEDEHEART Biobank
Nationally and regionally, Uppsala Biobank collaborates through Biobank Sweden, RBC (Regional Biobank Center) Uppsala Örebro, and with other local biobanks in Sweden. We also engage in international collaborations through organizations like ISBER (International Society for Biological and Environmental Repositories), ESBB (European, Middle Eastern & African Society for Biopreservation & Biobanking), and BBMRI (Biomolecular Resources Research Infrastructure).
