Uppsala Biobank is a research infrastructure and a competence center for biobank-related issues at Uppsala University and Region Uppsala. You can, for example, turn to us for counseling on biobank applications, sample storage, or sample collection. We review biobank-related aspects of ethical applications and guide you through everything from tube formats to analyses via our laboratory, Uppsala Biolab.

Watch Our Film About Hospital Integrated Biobanking
The film demonstrates how healthcare-integrated biobanking works, i.e., the collection of samples for research through routine healthcare processes. Since June 2011, Uppsala Biobank has been providing healthcare-integrated biobanking services and sample management in collaboration with the Department of Clinical Chemistry and Pharmacology (KKF) at the Academic Hospital. This is a secure, efficient, and resource-saving method for collection and storage that also meets the traceability requirements of biobank legislation.
